In September 2021, the Office of the FAIS Ombud launched a consumer awareness drive on a number of community radio stations. The consumer awareness drive is one of the steps taken by the Office to advise the public on the existence of the Office, the procedure for submitting a complaint, or on any other aspect concerning the Office in order to facilitate the submission and disposal of complaints.
The campaign is taking place on community radio stations targeted to reach communities and members of the public who, according to the statistics collected by the Office, are least likely to know about the work that the Office does. To date, the Office has been featured on various community radio stations in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, the Free State, Eastern Cape and North West.
